专利说明:

The subject matter of the present application is a table leg arrangement with a folding device for the pivotable attachment of table legs to a table top according to the preamble of patent claim 1. Tables with pivotable table legs are used when additional tables are temporarily required, e.g. in conference rooms, restaurant halls or in multipurpose halls. Such tables can be stacked in the smallest of spaces with the table legs folded in and made available for use without great effort.
Various designs of folding devices for table legs are already known. In most known devices, two table legs are firmly connected to one another at one end by a connecting tube. The connecting tube is held pivotably in a bearing in the vicinity of the table legs connected thereto. In order to convert the table legs from a rest position/storage position into a use position--the table legs are then usually arranged at right angles to the tabletop--the table legs must be converted from a rest latch into a use latch against the force of a spring. The unlocking in the rest position before transferring to the working position is done by axial displacement of the connecting tubes and is usually very strenuous for the operator and injuries to the hands, especially fingers, can also occur during these activities on such locking devices. Such a device is described in WO 2014/114811, for example.
An object of the present invention is to provide a table leg assembly with a folding device for pivoting attachment of table legs, the handling is guaranteed easy and safe.A further object of the invention is that the table legs are held without play in the working position in order to prevent the tables from wobbling during use.
[0004] This object is achieved by a table leg arrangement with a folding device according to the features of patent claim 1. Further configurations of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
The use of the two bearing shells, both as a pivot bearing and as a lock in the two positions of the table legs, namely the rest position for storage and the working position during use of the table, allows a very simple structure and safe, uncomplicated handling of the device . The design of the first bearing shell as an element that partially wraps around the connecting tube and can be moved against the second bearing shell with a traction device ensures that the table legs are guided correctly when pivoted and then held without play in the respective end positions. The form-fitting design of the interacting two bearing shells with the connecting tube in the two possible positions ensures that the table legs are held without play and at the same time are positioned exactly in the working and resting position. The linear contact of the second bearing shell enables easy and low-friction bearing during the pivoting movement. The first and second bearing shells can be opened and closed by a relative movement in a simple manner using a spindle, an eccentric or a toggle lever, which are available inexpensively as commercial goods. If the first bearing shell is produced from a flexible sheet metal, for example spring sheet metal, or a flexible band, in particular a band made of fiber-reinforced material, very low demands on precision and therefore low costs for its manufacture are possible.
A second bearing shell made of a semicircular, essentially rigid metal plate can also be produced inexpensively and requires low manufacturing tolerances. If the second bearing shell is produced from two webs with concave bearing surfaces, these can be produced from a stamped and bent part, a stamped welded part or a cast part.By using an eccentric shaft, which acts as part of the second bearing shell, the bearing shells can be opened and closed or moved towards and away from one another in a simple manner. If a bearing shoe is arranged on the eccentric shaft, the periphery of which serves as a contact surface for the connecting tube and is form-fitting to the surface of the connecting tube in the end positions, a play-free connection between the bearing shells and the table legs can be created and maintained in a simple manner.
With a tangential slot in the first bearing shell and with a radially cantilevered pin arranged on the connecting tube, the axial guidance of the connecting tube with the two table legs can be guaranteed at any time. Furthermore, the end positions of the table legs can be precisely determined by the position of the slot. As a result, the forces when moving the table - at least in one direction - are absorbed directly by the first bearing shell and the end position in the working position is precisely defined. If two table legs are connected with a common connecting tube, only one folding device is required for both table legs. If there is no connecting tube and the table legs are L-shaped instead, a separate bearing is required for each table leg.
The invention is explained below with reference to illustrated exemplary embodiments.

Figure 1 shows a lying with the table top 1 on the floor and with the table legs 9 projecting upwards table 3 of a first embodiment of a folding device 5 for two table legs 9 connected to one another by a connecting tube 7. The table legs 9 are in working / Use position, i.e. essentially the table legs 9 are at a right angle to the table top 1.In FIG. 2, the table legs 9 are folded in, lying essentially parallel to the table top 1, and are in the rest or transport position. In both cases, an operating lever 11 is shown standing essentially perpendicularly to the table top 1 . In this position of the operating lever 11, the table legs 9 are loose, i.e. they can be pivoted from the rest position to the working position and vice versa. In other words, the table legs are not locked.FIG. 3 shows on the one hand the two table legs 9 which are rigidly connected to one another by the connecting tube 7 . A flat area 13 is visible in the middle of the connecting tube 7, i.e. the connecting tube 7 is not circular in this area, but flat. The end of a pin 15 is visible on the side of the connecting tube 7 opposite the flattening 13 . An exploded view of the folding device 5 is also visible in FIG. This includes a mounting plate 17 to which a semi-circular sheet metal section 19 is connected. Running approximately parallel to the fastening plate 17, the sheet metal section 19 is adjoined by a flat sheet metal strip 21, on the free edge of which a slot 23 can be embedded. A slot-shaped recess 25 runs over the apex of the sheet metal section 19, which preferably extends approximately over half the periphery of the sheet metal section 19 bent in a semicircular shape, consequently over an angle of approximately 90°.Two mirror-symmetrical support elements 27 are also visible, which can be fastened to the fastening plate 17 and the metal strip 21 with screws or rivets. The support elements 27 or their side surfaces 29 are spaced apart from one another and each include a bore 31.The ends 33 of the axle of an eccentric 35 (also compare FIGS. 5 to 8) penetrate the bores 31 on the side surfaces 29 of the support element 27. A U-shaped contact element 37 can be placed on the axle of the eccentric 35. As will be described later, its front surface 39 comes into contact with the flattening 13 on the connecting tube 7 when the folding device 5 is positioned in the locking or use position, as shown in FIG.FIG. 4 again shows the connecting tube 7 with the two table legs 9 . It can also be seen there that a second flattening 41 is formed on the connecting pipe 7 offset by 90° to the pipe axis. Furthermore, it is easier to see on the folding device 5 in this figure how the support elements 27 are fastened to the fastening plate 17 . Fastening can be done with screws as shown or with rivets (rivets not shown).
In the vertical sections through the folding device 5, the table leg 9 is in the working position in FIG. The eccentric 35 is also visible, to which the lever 11 is attached with a pedal plate 12 . When the lever 11 is depressed, the eccentric 35 or its periphery furthest away from the center of rotation is in contact with the flattened area 13 on the connecting tube 7. Between the periphery of the eccentric 35 and the first flattened area 13 there is also the front surface 39 of the U-shaped Contact element 37. The presence of a contact element 37 is not mandatory, but it is advantageous since a larger contact surface can thereby be formed between the first flattening 13 and the eccentric 35.
In Figure 6, the table leg 9 is in the rest or storage position parallel to the table top 1. The lever 11 is again in the clamping position, as in Figure 5, only this time the periphery that is furthest away from the center of rotation of the eccentric 35 is on the second Flattening 41 on the connecting tube 7 and keeps the table leg 9 fixed in the rest position.
In order to be able to release the table leg 9 from the working position according to FIG. 5, as shown in FIG. 7, the lever 11 is pivoted upwards by 90° (clockwise). This pivoting reduces the distance between the periphery of the eccentric 35, so that there is no longer any contact between the eccentric 35 or the contact element 37 and the connecting tube 7 with the flattened area 13. The table leg 9 can therefore be rotated counterclockwise into the position shown in the figure 8. In order to be able to secure the table leg 9 again after it has been folded over, the lever 11 is folded over into the position shown in FIG.
In a further embodiment of the folding device 5 according to Figures 9 to 14, instead of an eccentric 35 which can be rotated by a lever 11, there is a semicircular sheet metal section which can be displaced with respect to the fastening plate 7, a flexible sheet metal or plastic strip 119. The sheet metal strip 119 is in turn fixed to the mounting plate 17, one end being pivoted to two guide plates 151 which are fixed to the mounting plate 17 at right angles to the latter. Further guide elements 153 are arranged to the side of the two guide plates 151 . On the guide plates 151, the edges 155 lying at the front in the figures are cut in a trapezoidal shape; in the case of the outer guide plates 157, their front edges 157 are designed in the shape of part circles. The end of the metal strip 119 which is on the right-hand side in the figures is connected to a clamping device which is held on the fastening plate 17 . An eccentrically mounted clamping lever 111 or a clamping screw (not shown) can be used as the clamping device. A flexible connecting means, such as a connecting rod or a wire 161, is inserted between the clamping lever 111 and the end of the sheet-metal strip 119. It can also be seen in FIGS. 11 and 12 that the tensioning lever 111 is pivotably mounted on a U-shaped bearing block 163 .In FIG. 12, flattened areas 113 and 141 are let into the connecting pipe 7 analogously to the flattened areas 13, 41 in the figures for the first exemplary embodiment. The flattened areas 113, 141 can extend axially over the distance between the two guide plates 151 or only over the respective width or thickness of the two guide plates 151. The flattened areas 113, 141 are in turn at an angle of 90° to the axis of the connecting tube 7.
The operation of the folding mechanism 5 is explained briefly in the second embodiment. In FIG. 13, the lever 111 is folded down and with this the sheet metal strip 119, which can consist of a spring sheet metal or a strip made of plastic, is applied snugly to the periphery of the connecting tube 7. Since the contact surfaces on the flat areas 113 and 114 on the connecting tube 7 coincide with the corresponding flat areas on the guide plates 151, 157, a form fit is produced here so that the table legs 9 can be used both in the working position (Figure 13) and in the storage position (Figure 14) are kept free of play.By raising the clamping lever 111 in a clockwise direction, the connection between the connecting tube 7 and the guide plates 51 is loosened to such an extent that a rotational movement, whether for folding the table legs 9 shut or for folding the table legs 9 out, is possible.
In a further embodiment of the invention according to Figures 17 to 20, the reference numerals of Figures 11 to 14 are used for identical parts. An end area (left side) is bent over on the fastening plate 17 in such a way that the plate encloses the connecting tube 7 by 180° and forms a bearing shell. To increase the strength, the free edge 163 is continued beyond the apex of the connection pipe 7 away parallel to the base part of the mounting plate 17. Guide plates 153 are inserted on both sides between the two parallel sections of the fastening plate 17 . Its edge directed towards the connecting tube 7 is arcuate, with the arc essentially corresponding to the radius of the connecting tube 7 and being arranged with play relative to the jacket of the connecting tube 7, so that the latter, guided by the fastening plate 17 and the guide plates 53, can rotate. The eccentric 35 is inserted between the two parallel sections of the fastening plate 17, which are held together by the guide plates 153. The pivot axis of the eccentric 35 is held in bores 165 so that it can pivot. When the clamping lever 111 is pivoted, as shown in the figures, the periphery of the eccentric 35 is slightly spaced from the first flattened area 13 on the guide tube 7.If the clamping lever 111 is brought into a substantially vertical position with respect to the connecting tube 7 by a spring 167, the distance between the jacket of the eccentric 35 and the flat area 13 is eliminated and a play-free connection between the eccentric 35 and the connecting tube 7 or the table legs 9 reached. The spring 167 is held tensioned on the tensioning lever 111 on the one hand and on the fastening plate 17 on the other hand. The spring 167 causes the clamping lever 111 and with it the eccentric 35, if this is not moved by hand against the force of the spring 167, to be positioned perpendicularly to the axis of the connecting tube 7 (no illustration). In the working position, i.e. the table legs are essentially perpendicular to the table top 1, the eccentric 35 contacts the first flattening 13. If the clamping lever 111 is pivoted away from the perpendicular position to the connecting tube 7, the connecting tube 7 with the table legs 9 can be pivoted by 90° and after releasing the clamping lever 11, the eccentric 35 or its casing comes into contact with a second flattened area 13', which is arranged at 90° to the first flattened area 13, by the force of the tensioned spring 167.
In the mounting plate 17 holes 169 are attached, with which the mounting plate 17 can be attached to a table top 1. The mounting plate 17 with the eccentric 35 and the table legs 9 guided on the mounting plate 17 can be manufactured as a module and screwed to any table top 1 or fastened to them. In order to avoid contact with the spring 167 and possible injury to fingers when the clamping lever 111 is pivoted, a metal or plastic protective plate 171 can be placed over the surface of the fastening plate 17 (see FIGS. 19 and 20).
In the exemplary embodiments, the table legs 9 are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner by the connecting tube 7 . Consequently, the table legs 9 connected to one another can each be locked by a single folding device 5 .In a further embodiment of the invention, not shown, stubs of connecting tubes 7 are fastened to the table legs, which only extend over part of the width of the table 3 and which are not connected to one another. In this embodiment of the invention, therefore, each table leg has its own folding device 5, the function of which is of course identical to that described above. The table legs 9 are adjusted individually for each table leg 9 .
